Message From the Couple
To our friends and family, thank you for considering joining us for our big day. We are so excited to celebrate our union of marriage, and we are just as excited to spend quality time with our friends and family in paradise!
We will be hosting our wedding at an all-inclusive resort, if you do not know what that means, or have never been to one, it is exactly how it sounds! All drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), food (including restaurants and buffets) , and resort amenities are included in the total room charge. It is important to know, the majority of our guests must stay on site for at-least 3 nights. This is due to the lower cost of the wedding in comparison to the United States. We hope our guests understand.
Of note, please read carefully below about the wedding accommodations for our guests. Utilize only this website to book your stay, if you find a cheaper price at RIU Palace Guanacaste, contact Destify for a price match (information on how to contact is below). This will help us manage our guest reservations and provide the resort a head count for our special day. When booking, specify the number of guests in your party. The total price is per night, not per person.
Plus one's are aloud, please specify their name in the RSVP section when you book your room.
It is highly recommended to place a deposit on your room and RSVP as far in advance as you can. Please RSVP and book your room before November 25th, 2024. Located at the bottom of this webpage. February is peak season in Costa Rica for tourism.
Please make sure your passports are up-to-date, you cannot travel into another country if it is expiring within 6 months of your travel dates. If you do not have a passport, and plan to come to the wedding, we suggest applying for your passport as soon as possible. New passports, regardless if it is a renewal or not, may take up to 8 months to be delivered to you.
REQUESTS AND CONSIDERATIONS
Although we love your children dearly, we ask kindly to keep them safe at home. This is an all adult party!
Dress Code: Semi-Formal. For men, something like a light suit with a button-down shirt and dress shoes, or a blazer, dress shirt, and dress pants. For ladies, a classy, long cocktail dress or dressy jumpsuit will fit the bill.
Setting: Venue and reception will be outdoors. Typical weather of Guanacaste in February is sunny with average temperatures in the upper 80s.
TRAVEL
Airports:
-Liberia Guanacaste Airport, approximately 35-45 minute drive to resort. Car rental available. Shuttle service is available at an extra cost.
-San Jose Airport, approximately 4.5 hour drive to resort. Recommend renting a car or driver. Typically cheaper airline costs and may benefit guests who are traveling to multiple different areas of Costa Rica and plan on renting a car or driver.

About Us
Ashlyn and Chris met in August of 2019 as new nurse residents on the same unit, quickly developing a friendship. After some time of being friends, coworkers, and each others support system during the pandemic, they both knew their feelings for each other could no longer be hidden. In February of 2021, their love story began. Early in the relationship, they learned about their passion for traveling. They have been to many exotic destinations, most recently Costa Rica, where Chris "popped the question".
It made no better sense to the couple than to host their wedding on the same date that they started dating and the same destination where Ashlyn and Chris decided on a lifetime together.
